Ms. Christina Tomlinson's Profile

Ms. Christina Tomlinson joined the U.S. Foreign Service in 1998. Prior to arriving in Islamabad, Christina earned a MSc in National Security Strategy from the National War College in June 2015. Before beginning graduate studies, Christina was the Acting Director of the Office of Public Diplomacy in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, where she served from 2012 to 2014. From 2011 to 2012, Christina was the Special Assistant to the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Ambassador Marc Grossman. She has also served in the Executive Secretariat of the Secretary of State. Overseas, Christina has served in Guangzhou, Budapest, and Istanbul, and as an intern in Vientiane. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, she worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce and the United Nations Washington, D.C., office. Born in Provo, Utah, Christina grew up in Reston, Virginia. She also holds a BA in International Relations from Brigham Young University and an MA in International Affairs from George Washington University.
